I bought this cam only to have email alerts, and it seems it's what I cannot do. Obviously inserting that in the SMTP field of the cam interface does not work. Moreover pinging gives a request timeout while pinging gmail- smtp-msa.l. works. I looked at the ports, and 465 is open while 587 is closed, as well as 25. No matter changing providers and ports and ssl/tls, always the same error message. Setting up the mail service is easy, I followed the instructions for Gmail, but for other ISP providers (including my own ISP) but any possible combination results in a " Test failed. In addition, it is set to record snapshots and videos and send via FTP to the nas, and I find those in the nas folders. On the QNAP nas surveillance station the cam is recognized as Foscam FI8919W and viewable.

We do not have intentions to rewrite low level boot code and drivers for this camera model, instead we provide end users the ability to mitigate risk by gaining full root control. At this time OpenIPC is not a 100% completely open source project as we rely upon the chinese base firmware at the moment to execute our payload (install method). OpenIPC for Wyze V1 is forked from fang-hacks and is based on a proprietary Xiaomi firmware (FIRMWARE_660R.bin) with implementations allowing the end user to take full control of their Wyze camera. OpenIPC for Wyze V2 is forked from dafang-hacks and is based on a proprietary Wyze firmware (demo.bin) with implementations allowing the end user to take full control of their Wyze camera.
